The well-known story of Betsy Ross sewing our first national flag, at the request of George Washington, is tightly woven into the colorful fabric of America’s rich history. Built around 1740, it is a variation of the “trinity” or “bandbox” style house, with one room on each floor and a winding staircase stretching from the cellar to the upper levels. Located in the historic Old City area, it has been open to the public as a fascinating little museum since 1898.
